Fixonic cookie policy
Effective 2 September 2026. This policy explains cookies and similar storage used by the Fixonic website and web app.
Your choices
Fixonic uses a small set of required cookies to provide core marketplace, account, checkout and security functions. These required cookies are always active because the service cannot safely provide those functions without them.
Optional personalisation and analytics storage is disabled unless you choose to allow it. You can use the cookie banner to accept optional cookies, reject optional cookies, or manage your choices. You can change those choices later using .
Required cookies
| Name | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
sessionid | Keeps a signed-in session and other server-side session state associated with the same browser. | Session or configured Django session lifetime. |
csrftoken | Protects forms and authenticated actions against cross-site request forgery. | Up to the configured Django CSRF lifetime. |
fixonic_device | Provides a random device/install identifier used by Fixonic Shield for account security, fraud prevention and abuse detection. The cookie is HttpOnly and is not used for advertising. | Up to 1 year. |
fixonic_consent_v1 | Remembers whether you rejected or allowed optional personalisation and analytics, so Fixonic does not repeatedly ask on every visit. | Up to 180 days. |
Other short-lived security or authentication cookies may be created by Fixonic's sign-in flow where technically necessary to complete the action you requested.
Optional analytics
Optional analytics is off by default. Fixonic does not permit optional analytics storage until you actively enable the Analytics choice. If an analytics provider is added, its scripts must check the stored consent choice before creating analytics cookies or similar storage.
Rejecting optional analytics does not prevent you from browsing, creating an account, buying, selling, bidding, messaging, using repair features or accessing Fixonic's normal marketplace functions.
Similar browser storage
Some user-requested preferences can be stored using browser storage rather than cookies. For example, Fixonic can remember the light or dark theme selected on that device. Storage used only to provide a setting or feature you explicitly request is kept separate from optional analytics.
Security and fraud prevention
The fixonic_device value is a random identifier. Fixonic Shield combines it with privacy-preserving fingerprints and first-party marketplace activity to detect account abuse and fraud. The cookie itself does not contain your name, email address, payment-card details or raw IP address.
More information about Fixonic Shield and the handling of security information is available in the Privacy Policy.
Changes and contact
If Fixonic adds a new optional cookie category or materially changes how optional storage is used, the consent version can be updated so users are asked to choose again. Contact privacy@fixonic.co.uk with questions about cookies or privacy.
