Before you begin
Use this guide to replace a faulty or burnt-out brushless motor on your DJI Mini 2. Whether from a crash or motor stall, replacing just the bare motor—rather than the entire arm assembly—saves cost and retains the original structural hinge. This procedure requires opening the drone’s main fuselage, freeing the arm wire harness, and carefully desoldering the three motor phase wires from the ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) board before installing the new unit. This repair is rated as Hard. Working inside the compact DJI Mini 2 frame requires precise fine-pitch soldering on the ESC board and delicate routing of tiny wires through tight arm hinge pathways. Accidental solder bridges, overheating the ESC board pads, or pinching wires during reassembly can cause flight instability or short circuits. Extreme care, steady hands, and soldering experience are required.
